I finally started putting up some Christmas decorations yesterday. I'm really excited because this year, for the first time ever, I'm doing a pink Christmas! So I started with the tree in the livingroom, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
The decorations in the 'man cave' (family room) will still be the traditional red and green that we have always done. Drew has been such a good sport letting me do all this pink, I have to let him have at least a little space in the house. *wink*
I'm still puttering on the rest of the decorating, so I'll post more pics when I get more done.
I need to start working on my Thanksgiving shopping list. I know, nothing like waiting till the last minute. We did however get our turkey several days ago. We found them for 40 cents lb. at Walmart, so we bought a few.
I've been busy in my studio today...can't get enough of creating right now. When I thought about what to put up for my favorite things today, I decided to go with quotes. I am a collector of quotes. Just can't pass up a good quote...so here are some of my favorites...along with some things I've been working on today.
Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
Be who you are, and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. --Dr. Seuss
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. --Eleanor Roosevelt
Be absolutely determined to enjoy what you do. --Gerry Sikorski
And then, I found these two quotes on sites I visited today:
To live a creative life we must lose our fear of being wrong. --author unknown
Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. --Picasso
I love those!! Hey have a super weekend...treat yourself to some pink!
I really need to go to bed, but it never fails, I get my nightly boost of energy and then I want to play in my room. So tonight, I'm making the snowman hat to put on the top of my tree. I'll post again as soon as I get it done.
...it's been so long since I blogged, this is a big one...lots of pics.
I finally finished the dressform I started 2 or 3 months ago.
And got my little birdhouse hanger repainted. I've been really craving to create lately. There are so many things I want to make...and learn...that I can't decide where to start.
Here are a few pretties that have come in the mail recently. I got this darling little candle chandelier from Angel Wings Cottage. It's hanging in the bathroom and I just love the pretty touch it adds.
just brimming with the sweetest paper roses and posies.
And look at the cute little candy bar that came with it. I love it!...and couldn't agree more...everybody DOES need a little pink!
And these pretty pink bottle brush trees came from Shabbyfufu. I can't wait to put them out...which will be this week, hopefully.
My sweet Drew got up first thing Saturday, and built this frame for my beautiful rose print. Then I painted and distressed it. I'm sooooooo happy with the way it turned out. Thanks honey!
And...last, but not least, I've been making these cute glittery paper ornaments. I got the instructions at Joli Paquet. They've got all kinds of fun things to do for Christmas. I'm going to be making the Snowman Hat next...and put it on the top of my tree.
So, now I'm all caught up! I hope you were able to make it through all of that.
I hope you have a wonderful week...and don't forget to have a little pink!!
...I have been a terrible blogger the past two weeks! Been tired alot, and lazy the rest of the time. I promise I WILL post something better than this tomorrow...although, don't you just love this pretty rose? I do.
This is what I woke up to this morning! The first snow in the valley. While I am not a lover of snow, hate, hate, hate to drive in it, it does look so pretty and clean. And because everything outside is bright and white, it's making the inside of the house look bright and cheerful!
I forgot to show you this beautiful De Longpre print I got last week from So Shabby Pink. It's so pretty! Drew is going to build me a frame for it, but I couldn't wait, so it's sitting on the shelf so I can enjoy it, in the meantime.
And today, this beauty arrived from Katie's Rose Cottage. Between this pretty wreath, and the snow, I'm ready to start decorating for Christmas!
