The Afghan

This beautiful and amazing woman is my mother. She passed away in January 1986, and was three years younger than I am now.
She is the mother of nine children. She sewed, painted, crocheted, cross-stitched, canned, cooked, baked, you name it, the woman was an artist with any medium.

My father, who is 85 years young, and spunky as ever, recently moved in with two of the most awesome and loving people I know...my sister and her husband. During his move, he has passed on some of his belongings to family members; which brings me to this beautiful afghan that I acquired last night. It was made by my mother, and has found a new home on my favorite chair in the livingroom. And I think it looks absolutely perfect there!

Treasure this day,
and treasure yourself.
Truly neither will ever
happen again.
