Swiss Days

Swiss Days is the big celebration that takes place in Midway every year during the Labor Day weekend.

In the 37 years that hubby and I have been married, I don't think we've ever missed one.

It's hosted by the Midway Boosters, who use the profits to benefit this small community.

Booth after booth of creative artists sell their beautiful arts and crafts.

The booths are all uniquely decorated.

This is the one booth that I never miss.

Every year, I have to treat myself to one of the huge scones. YUM!

Looks like so much fun. I love it when they have art and craft shows. This weekend we had the annual bathtub race - tubs made out of everything!! A couple of guys had their beer keg attached to what look like a cardboard tub but even if it sank they still had their floating beer!!

Um, don't think that's a scone. Must be the Swiss version! Kind of looks like a bunuelo (which is a fried tortilla covered in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with honey), but it looks a good deal chewier.

Love it! I grew up in Payson with Onion days AND a Scottish festival. Local celebrations are so much fun.
That's the kind of scone they make out here in Washington at the fair too. I like cinnamon sugar on it but butter and blackberry jam is awesome too.

I've never seen one like that either. But as they say, when in Rome....! I'm sure I could fit one in! :) x
