Hooked on Journals

I had so much fun creating my journal in Heather's
class that I decided to make one for my sister.

She's had some hard knocks the past few years,
and next week is her birthday, so I decided
to make her a journal and fill it with my hopes for her.

I put an envelope on the last page, just like
I did in mine. I'm going to write a letter to
her and put it in the envelope.

I also made a keeping box for her.

I lined the bottom with pink fabric, topped with
a vintage doily. The sides are lined with a cream
color chenille and then trimmed around the top.

Yes, I think I'm hooked!

Hope you're doing something fun this weekend!

Oh Debi, that is just so, so beautiful! You must be really pleased with it. I'm sure your sister is going to be soooo loving it.
I'd really like to do Heather's class but it will have to wait until my purse is a little fuller. Her work looks lovely. x

Debi, What a precious gift for your sister! Your journal is gorgeous and so is the box!! You have some of the most beautiful sheet music I have seen, and I absolutely love all of the quotes you've used. I finished my journal, but have just found a box, so am working on it.

This journal turned out just gorgeous! I have really gotten into the art form of making handmade journals.... it gives me a place to tuck away all of my sentimental little paper things that I never threw away! :) I'm such a packrat when it comes to my children's artwork, ticket stubs, Valentine's, etc.....
Have fun creating more~ it can be quite addicting!

You have given me the best idea.
Ever since our Mom died, my sister an I, well . . . we just haven't . . . clicked.
I had heard about families being torn apart, but never dreamed it could happen to me. My sister and I were BEST FRIENDS!
But . . . so it goes . . . and it happened. :( My Mom would be so sad.
It's been 11 years since Mom died.
And you have given me the BEST idea for a gift for her for Christmas.
I just recently found my mom's spellers from Grammar school and an old Sunday School workbook she did. PERFECT!
Thank You!!!! I hope this does the trick. I miss her!
I'll let you know how it goes!!!
