The Year of Freedom

I don't make New Year resolutions.
But, I have found that choosing a
word for inspiration can help.

My sister Cindy, recently gave me this
Willow Tree angel as an inspiration.
She is the Angel of Freedom.

She is my inspiration on the road
to freedom from smoking. My quit
day was Christmas Eve, and I have
now reached the two week mark.

After all the times I've tried to quit
before, I know this time is the one.
I can feel it. I believe it.

So, Freedom will be my word for 2010.

And, I will look to my little angel for
inspiration as I work to achieve freedom
from the things that hold me back.

To accomplish great things we must not
only plan but also believe.

Congratulations! I'm so proud of you -- 2 weeks is great!!

My little 17 yr old daughter has also give up as of New Years. She's using a patch; so far, so good. And I'm holding a "carrot" in front of her nose to keep her going.

I'll be praying for both of you now!

Hang in there, Debi! You can do it! I quit cold turkey many years ago. So did my husband. The fact that you've gone 2 weeks is to be applauded!

I really like the inspiratin you have shared. Freedom is a great word full of so much hope. I pondered it for quite a while, then I had to look it up...I'm like that, deep!
Freedom: 1.personal liberty.
Hhmmm, we have so much to be thankful for.
I know you will do it. What a great way to start the New Year, good for you. And I love the poem, Believe is my all time favorite word.

I quit cold turkey 7 years ago and I played mind games with myself.... I told myself the stores didnt sell them anymore and if you don't have them you don't smoke them, oh, and I prayed to God the night before that He would help me quit and He did. Never had another cigarette after that day. One day at a time. Be strong and think of all the money you will save. Congratulations on the best decision you may ever make for yourself.

Good luck
Ginger

Yay! Your world will change! You are beautiful and can do anything! Think of the new growth from this, literally and spiritually. I mean when my daughter asked a cousin why she smoked, she said "My mind thinks it is delicious, I guess." To which my daughter replied, "Hmmm... delicious poison is still poison right Mama?" I said, "Yes love." "I see." she said and ran off to play leaving us in awe of her wisdom. I applaud you friend. Blessings and strength.
