My 'New' Light

Years ago, hubby's parents received this beautiful
vintage light as a gift from a relative. Until they both
passed away, it hung in their bedroom.

I have always adored this light, and was
very fortunate to have inherited it.

My sweet hubby (finally) hung it for me today.
It is over the kitchen sink, and I'm in love!

Here it is with the lights turned off
so you can see the beautiful colors.

Every time I walk into the kitchen, I swoon.....again.

Hope you're enjoying your long weekend!

Waiting for Inspiration

The weeds are thriving, but the flowers
have been very slow to bloom this year.

It's been cold and rainy here. We even
had snow in a few parts a couple of days ago.

It's actually in the 70's today, but the sky
is gray and another storm is coming our way.

I just can't seem to find the energy
or the inspiration to work in my little garden.

So, Lucy and I are waiting.

Some Days.......

......I just wanna play.....

How about you?

Have you played today?

Wrapping and Fluffing

I've been busy trying to finish up a few
swaps I've been working on.
My trusty helper Molly, likes to hang
out in the studio while I'm playing.
I've pulled out the tulle to wrap and fluff my swap gifts.
Adding some flowers.....
....and bling.

I'm working on some really fun swaps
right now that I can't wait to show you.

What I Create

Hi everybody!

I'm participating in Andrea's
'Show What You Create' blog party!

There isn't any one thing that I create....
if you follow my blog, you know that
I'm just kind of all over the place.

So, I thought I would show some of
the projects I've been working on this week.

I did this little painting on canvas
to hang on my studio door.

The canvas was painted, then layered with
wallpaper and sheet music. Then I
painted over that, and added some bling.

I'm working on a swap in the Marie Antoinette
mail art group. We each make our own book,
then send a packet of goodies to each of our
two partners. The goodies are to add to our books.

This is my cover. I'm so excited about
how my little half doll turned out.

I only got a few pages done before
my sewing machine decided to start
giving me fits. So, here is what I have so far.

I added rhinestones, faux pearls
and feathers to this page. ooh la la

I'm going to add several pocket pages
to hold tags and other fun things.

And then, I decided to play with
some of my dress forms. This one
got a skirt and a few frills.

Thanks for visiting my studio!

Mail Art Beauties

I've received a couple of beauties this week,
from MA mail art group swaps.

The first is this beautiful jewelry pouch
from Ira. It's covered with yummy
organza and embellished so pretty.

This is one of my favorite Marie images,
and I love all of the pretty little roses.

And these are the beautiful goodies
that were in the jewelry pouch.

And then, I received this gorgeous
crown from Ingrid. I have it displayed
on top of my bird cage on the coffee
table, so I can see it all the way around.

I love the gold bird on the front, and there
are little jewels all the way around.

And the back of the crown
is just as pretty as the front.

I'm just so excited with both of these beauties.
They are definitely fit for a queen!
