Change is Good

I love change. Not big life-changing change,
but the kind that makes you smile....like
getting new furniture, or painting
old furniture.....you know, fun change.

Well, I was bored today, so I made a little change.

I decided to give my wall hanging dress form a makeover.

Now, maybe I took the long way around the block,
but that's usually the way I do things, and I was having fun.

I started out by decoupaging the whole thing with newsprint.

Then, I added a layer of cotton batting. I love this stuff!!

And finally, I covered the whole thing in muslin,
and added some vintage lace pieces and some bling.

And look at this gorgeous soldered charm necklace
made by the talented Jill at Gypsy Brocante.

It was the perfect finishing touch!

Les Fleurs de Marie

My little flower shoppe for a Marie Antoinette
Mail Art swap was such a fun project.

I couldn't find a box this time, so hubby built this one for me.

It worked out better because he made it with a pitched
roof that was really fun to cover with pink shingles.

For the shoppe sign, I used this beautiful image from
Her images are among my favorites to use.

Creating the miniatures for these shadow boxes
is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do.

Les Fleurs de Marie was created for Dee.

I hope she likes it.

A Little Project

I'm working on a little, tiny project right now.

One of those projects that I have so much fun with.....

that I pull an all-nighter.

I couldn't help myself.

I should have it done soon, then I'll show you.

Giveaway Winner

After a week of not feeling well, (over did it last week)
I think I'm finally starting to feel better today. So hopefully,
I'll have something to blog about next week.

And now for the giveaway. The winner of the necklace is.......

Congrats Sharon, your necklace will soon be on its way!

I appreciate all of the sweet comments on my jewelry
making. I've had so much fun with it.

Did You Know?

That today is National Cupcake Day!

Although there seems to be some confusion
as to when Cupcake Day really is, it is
being reported on news stations today.

So, I decided to participate. Unfortunately, I didn't have
all of my usual ingredients (cake mix and tub of frosting) in the house.

So, I made Cinnamon Streusel muffins instead.

I thought, if nobody is sure when Cupcake Day really is,
maybe my muffins won't realize they aren't really cupcakes.

Happy Cupcake Day!

P.S. don't miss my giveaway in the previous post.

A New Love & a Giveaway

While on our cabin retreat last week, my sister and I
tried our hand at creating jewelry.....and we're hooked.

I made this first necklace for my little sister. She's
the same age as my daughter, and lives in Colorado.
I got to see her last month, which was such a treat.

After the first one, I couldn't stop. So, I made this one for me.

And this one.

The funny thing is, I don't actually wear jewelry because
being a borderline hermit, I'm usually in my jammies.

Do you think the mailman will find it odd
that I wear jewelry with my jammies?

Now, I also had to make a necklace in this beautiful blue
that is fast becoming a favorite of mine.

So, I made this one for YOU.

If you would like to win this necklace, just leave a comment
on this post. I will draw a winner this Friday, the 20th.

Easy Peasy!

Petite Bead Boxes

I'm so happy to have participated in Cassandra's
Petite Bead Box Swap because it inspired me
to try something new. I have been making
jewelry for the last week, and I think I'm hooked.

Here are the boxes I made for my partners.

This one was for Bryanna.

Here is Michele's box.

And this is Heather's box.

Here are the box and beads I received from Bryanna,

and from Michele.

The beads from these two partners were such
a pretty match to each other, that I used them
to create my very first charm bracelet.
This cute box and beads came from Heather.

I made a necklace using a combination of gold
and silver metals, and all the pretty beads.

This was such a fun swap.
Thank you Cassandra for hosting.

You can visit Cassandra's blog to see

I'm Home.....

for a little while.

I'm busy today getting ready to leave again.

Headed back to the cabin for a few days,
this time with hubby.

I thought I'd share the fabric tags I made
while at the cabin with my sister.

They are for a Marie Antoinette swap.

My sister and I had a great time and did lots of creating.
When I get back, I'll show you more of what I did.

Have a beautiful weekend!
