My Favorite Time of Year

Bridal Veil Falls

Without a doubt, Fall is my most favorite time of the year.

I love the beautiful, vibrant colors the season brings....

....the crisp chill in the air that brings out the sweaters and jackets....

....warm socks, and a big mug of hot chocolate....

....a big pot of soup on the stove....

....the rustling of the fallen leaves as I walk through them....

....bringing out the quilts and throws for the couches....

....and snuggling under a warm blanket while watching TV.

All of the photos in this post were taken in Provo Canyon
and American Fork Canyon, in the beautiful state of Utah,
where I live, by my sweet neighbor friend, Debbie.

(Thank you Debbie for letting me share your beautiful photos.)

I hope Fall is as beautiful wherever you are, as it is here in Utah.

It's Been So Long!

Did you ever have something you loved doing so much,
that you missed it when you couldn't do it?

And then, life got so busy you couldn't do it
for a long period of time, and when you finally
had the time again, you wondered if you even
wanted to do it anymore?

That's where I've been with my blog.

This has been the craziest, busiest summer ever!

Many, many trips to our family cabin. Some with my sisters,
and others with my hubby. Every trip was wonderful
and fun, but have left me utterly exhausted.

I have thought many times over the last three months
about posting to my blog, but just didn't have the time or energy.
And then, the more time that passed, the harder it got.

The energy thing is still a work in progress, but it's getting better.

A few weeks ago, I took on another big project that I'm almost finished with now.

After one of my sons moved into his own place, I gained
a second room for my crafting. With little thought and
planning, I attempted to turn it into a sewing room.

That didn't work.

For two years now, I've been trying to make that space work for me.
But since my rooms are on different floors in the house,
I was doing more running up and down stairs than creating.

Feeling defeated and totally bummed, I finally gave up
on the idea of having two rooms, and started thinking
about how I could fit everything back into one room.

And then it hit me......right between the eyes!

Sewing is only a small part of my crafting, and doesn't
work in a room of its own.

Before I got really involved in crafting, my room was a scraproom.
Over the years, my scrapbooking supplies have been shoved into boxes
and put in my closet, making it difficult to scrapbook.

So, for the last month, I've been packing supplies up and down
the stairs, and setting up my new scraproom.

It never fails, when I am the most tired, that seems to be when I start the biggest
projects. But, I'm really excited about finally figuring out my spaces.

I hope you have all had a wonderful and exciting summer!

I will be back soon.
